Santa arrived in North Wexford in the rural village of Ballycanew yesterday at 7pm, where he was met by Jack Frost who was entertaining the crowd prior to his visit. Santa turned on the large 30ft Christmas tree in the village with the help of Mr. Furney who is one of the villages oldest residents. 208 children got to visit with Santa last night, and they all received a selection box on the night. A great turnout in the village yet again this year, and credit to our local lights committee who organised the entire evening.
